“Adrien Joveneau’s programme on RTBF has made a magnificent contribution to broadcasting its fame for a number of years. Disused suburban tram lines, old railway tracks and towpaths, revitalised both to improve mobility and to rediscover the hidden riches of our regions.
"For a long time the Ardenne Bleue was neglected by the development of the RAVeL. The abundance of its footpaths and walks was perhaps the reason for this. But even as we write, things are changing.
"Line 38 links Vaux-sous-Chèvremont to Hombourg. It is the first evidence of the RAVeL network in Ardenne Bleue. Thanks to this line, you will discover the thousand faces of the Herve Region: its wealthy towns, the rich orchards and those green hillocks that fringe the countryside… Here is the Abbey of Val-Dieu, over there some isolated farms… You’ll be pedalling gently, in the same quiet way as the current of the Berwinne and Gueule rivers.
"New routes are currently being developed around Spa and south of Jalhay. Another follows the famous racetrack of Spa-Francorchamps, while between Waimes and Oudler, 35 Km of RAVeL have been arranged, passing by Saint-Vith and Burg-Reuland.
The Trois- Ponts/Stavelot/Malmedy/Waimes axis (line 45) has been open since July 2011 and extends the pleasure of RAVeL by 22 Km. …
"RAVeL 6 is on the way. It will soon cover the whole of the Ardenne Bleue. The RAVeL is for users of quiet roads only ... In total safety, come and enjoy the combined pleasures of sport and gentle tourism!"
